communities across Australia being urged to
unite in support of an end to violence against
women by having a night in to get the word out.

The White Ribbon Foundation is looking to
raise $100,000 from White Ribbon Night.
All funding raised supports primary-
intervention activities and research aimed at
changing attitudes and behaviour that result in
violence against women.
In addition to organising an event,
participants are asked to register at

with a donation.

ACTION BUS NETWORK
New service's wheels to begin rolling in spring

COUNCIL NEEDS NEW
The ACT Heritage Council is
searching for new members
interested in the territory s rich
history. Minister for Planning Mick
Gentleman is seeking nominations
for the council, chaired by Duncan
Marshall, before memberships
expire in March. Mr Gentleman said
the government was looking for
experience in a range of areas,
including Aboriginal culture and
history, architecture, engineering,
town planning and urban design.
The council works with the
government to ensure the protection
of heritage places and objects across
the territory, natural and built.
