QUEANBEYAN ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT STRATEGIC GROUP
Do you have a passion for seeing our local economy flourish and our city recognised as
a vibrant, flourishing part of the Capital Region? If, 'yes' then we need your expertise.
Queanbeyan City Council is establishing the Queanbeyan Economic Development Strategic
Group (QEDSG) to assist with the development and implementation of an Economic
Development Strategy for Queanbeyan. The objectives of the QEDSG are:
Council is seeking expressions of interest from individuals across the Queanbeyan
economy who can make a positive contribution to the activities of the QEDSG. We are
seeking participants who have extensive experience within the Queanbeyan economy, have
an understanding of the advantages and challenges facing our local economy and have a
passion for seeing Queanbeyan develop as a major regional centre which contributes to
the wider regional economy. If this is you, have a look at the information pack which can be
found at www.qcc.nsw.gov.au and complete the expression of interest application form
and return to:
To act as a 'think tank' for bringing initiatives and ideas before Council for possible
inclusion within a Queanbeyan Economic Development Strategy.
To encourage a close link between the Council and community by establishing
and maintaining a two-way flow of communication and information on economic
development matters of interest to Queanbeyan.
To act as a facilitator between Council and the Queanbeyan Business Community
on economic issues impacting upon Queanbeyan.
To mobilise sections of the Queanbeyan community to take ownership of certain
actions identified within the Queanbeyan Economic Development Strategy.
