FOR WEEK BEGINNING
JANUARY 27, 2015
During January 28, 29 you'll be taking that
usual look at your money management,
especially as cash is flowing in both
directions. Particular attention is paid to
domestic finances. A small setback seems to
distinguish January 29-31 from other days,
in what is currently a favourable period for
your professional, legal, academic or travel
Taurean communicative abilities are at
their best during Wednesday and Thursday,
perhaps because they possess the ability
to empathise with others and express their
feelings. The gentle gloves of financial
constraint are being applied during January
29-31. You may not be happy about it but at
least it is not a severe blow to your plans.
January 28, 29 is that quiet time of the month
when you need to recharge your battery cells
and deal with recently neglected issues. Money
can also cause problems. Circumstances
seem to interfere with your marriage,
business partnership or connections to
others generally during January 29-31,
leaving you feeling a little alone.
You are in a rather sociable state of mind
during Wednesday and Thursday. It is
generally easier to get what you want during
this part of the month. Goals are productive.
The pace at work is slow during January 29-31
due to influences of someone upon whom you
are relying. Unfortunately, there may also be
some pressure on you.
Wednesday and Thursday is one of those
times when you would rather retreat from
the scrutinising eyes of the outside world
but are unlikely to keep a low profile. Leonine
parents are likely to feel a little disconnected
from their children during January 29-31,
whilst Leonine romantics will feel a similar
detachment due to absence of a love interest.
January 28, 29 is a favourable time for
expanding your mental resources and
pushing forward your dreams. Long trips and
contacts are generally advantageous under
this trend. January 29-31 is one of those times
that you would prefer to be alone at home,
not only to accomplish your tasks, but also to
enjoy a little "me" time. Others may be a little
There are many small questions you will want
answered during January 28, 29,
evidenced by an arousal of curiosity. This is
an excellent time to handle money matters.
Words do not flow easily during January
29-31, which seems to be par for the course
lately. These trends also indicate delays in
plans, travel, and communication response
During January 28, 29 you should feel it is
important to grow closer to someone special
or to renew contacts with friends. There is
a good exchange of emotions. Whilst money
might be a little tight at the moment, it
doesn't faze you too much during January
29-31. Scorpio natives easily live within their
means at the moment.
During January 28, 29 you will be happiest
performing the ritual of your usual chores.
Health matters require attention too due to a
down cycle you're experiencing. Sagittarius
needs to be pragmatic in their outlook on life
at the moment, particularly as there is little
choice in these matters. January 29-31 raises
consciousness of such issues.
There is a tendency to dwell on aspects of
your personal life during Wednesday and
Thursday, which is quite delightful. This trend
is not favourable for gambling. Capricorn
natives experience a dip in their energy levels
during January 29-31, making it a little more
difficult to manage various aspects of their
lives. Take it easy.
You would like to retreat to the peaceful
influence of home during January 28, 29.
However, there is so much to be done that it
may not be all that peaceful. January 29-31
brings minor setbacks to goals for Aquarian
natives, most likely as you trip yourself up in
some small way. You'll be back on track soon:
it's no big deal.
January 28, 29 bring a period of increased
activity, whether you are on the phone or on
the road. Children or recreational activities
provide the reasons for this activity.
During January 29-31 there are trends that
are active that could undermine your position
and status, so take care not to slip up. These
are manageable so stay alert and keep your

FILM REVIEW: BIRDMAN
Intense story that takes wing
Michael Keaton plays struggling actor Riggan Thomson in Birdman.
The big screen
Birdman is a stunning film.
It follows Riggan Thomson, an
actor who achieved popularity as
Birdman, a Hollywood movie comic
book hero, as he attempts to regain
credibility by adapting, starring in
and directing a Broadway play.
He struggles with his demons and
relationships including daughter Sam
recovering from drug addiction, his
manager Jake, theatre critic Tabitha,
and antagonistic fellow actor Mike
Shiner and the desire to be loved for
himself rather than being the face
behind the Birdman persona.
Birdman unfolds gradually and
takes the viewer time in which to
settle into its stylistic elements.
One of the potential obstacles is the
apparently continuous filming, as if
the film has been recorded in one
uninterrupted shot. The camera glides
from one location to another before
settling, for a time, into more static
Much of the film is set in the
labyrinthine corridors and stage of
Broadway s St James Theatre.
The actors are intense in the
delivery of their lines and

of actors staging a theatrical

However, Birdman is grounded in
cinematic techniques. The soundtrack
relies on a solo drummer pounding
out a beat. Simple and compelling.
Riggan also, at times, appears to
possess extraordinary powers, like his
alter ego Birdman. He hears the voice
of his comic book identity Birdman in
his head. Birdman becomes Riggan s

make the movie astounding. For these
same reasons, Birdman may not
appeal to everyone.

be appreciated for its bold approach
and outstanding achievement.
