RONALD McDONALD HOUSE
Community support for charity day was very much appreciated
On behalf of Ronald McDonald
House Charities, I would like to
thank the Canberra community for
their support of McHappy Day.
The event, which took place at
McDonald s restaurants across the
country on Saturday, October 18,
broke the McHappy Day record and
raised more than $3.2 million
nationally. This equates to more
than 24,600 nights accommodation
in a Ronald McDonald House for
the families of seriously ill children.
The money raised will allow us to
continue to offer our programs and
services to seriously ill children and
families. These programs include
Ronald McDonald House, Family
Rooms and Family Retreat.
The funds collected on McHappy
Day will also help us with some of
our future plans.
RMHC aims to build or extend
five houses, open eight more family
rooms and develop other programs
such as the Ronald McDonald
Learning Program over the next few
years. Since RMHC began in 1981,
our programs helped more than
None of this would be possible
without the support of the
community who generously
continue to donate their time and
money to this valuable cause.
